A Wii U I bought in the summer of 2017, it still enjoys a place below the telly.
Well, this has been the Wii U. I hope you found it an enjoyable read.
It's curious to think that, all this time, the Wii U was actually competing against the 7th generation and not the soon-to-be-released PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This practice of releasing ahead of schedule reminds me of the one employed years ago by Sega and NEC (coincidentally, two companies out of the console race...).
Still, whatever anyone says about the Wii U, I still find it a great 'retro' system for playing many Wii and GameCube titles over HDMI. The upscaling capabilities are somewhat mediocre, I admit, but I don't need pixel-perfection on games written for the composite era.
Anyhow, now that the last PowerPC console is done, I guess I'll be writing about ARM and x86 consoles from now on, though I wonder if in the not-so-distant feature we'll see a RISC-V console. Who knows. In any case, I'll need to take some time, as always, to do maintenance work on the site first.
Until next time!
